Explore It!

First, the students were introduced to investigating
the shapes made by plants.
They worked with latex stamps to create freeform designs.

     


Next, they investigated natural leaves with Beth Gelman
of the Terra Museum of American Art and tried to reproduce
the shapes they saw with paper and pencil.

     


The following session, the students tried to view the leaves
as parts of the entire plant.
